Why Paint Correction

Your Paint Has More Damage Than You Think

Most people don't realize how much damage their paint accumulates over time. Automatic car washes, improper washing technique, bird droppings, water spots, and UV exposure all leave marks in your clear coat. By the time it's visible, the damage is already set in. Paint correction removes those defects from within the clear coat itself — restoring the gloss, depth, and clarity your paint had when the car was new.

Removes swirl marks, water spots & light scratches

Restores gloss, depth & clarity to dull paint

Prepares paint for ceramic coating or sealant

How Paint Correction Works

Step 1: Full Decontamination & Prep

Every correction starts with a full decontamination wash, clay bar treatment, and iron removal. This strips every bonded contaminant off your paint so the machine polisher is working on a clean surface — not grinding dirt into your clear coat.

Step 2: Machine Polish & Correction

In some cases Especially With Paint Transfer Or Headlight Restoration, Sanding may be required.

Using professional grade compounds and dual action, and rotary polishers, we work panel by panel to cut, refine, and remove defects from within your clear coat. The number of passes depends on your correction level — from a single enhancement pass all the way to a full multi-step restoration.

Step 3: Final Inspection & Protection

Once correction is complete we inspect every panel under proper lighting to confirm the results. We then apply a finishing protection — either a spray sealant to lock in the correction, or you can upgrade to a ceramic coating to protect your investment for years.

About CL Detailz

I got my start buying and selling cars at the auction. Every car I sold, without fail, people always commented on the same thing — how clean it was. How the paint shined. How the rims looked. Never the engine, never the transmission. Always the detail.

That's when it hit me. Nobody around here was doing this the right way — and it was obvious to every single person who bought a car from me. CL Detailz was built on that moment. If people noticed that much on a car I was just selling, imagine what a dedicated detail could do for yours.

What New Orleans Drivers Are Saying

frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Relock Express, Beadlock Pro, and Beadlock Black?

These are three different ceramic coating formulas at different protection levels. Relock Express is our entry level 12-month coating — great for drivers who want real ceramic protection at an accessible price. Beadlock Pro is our most popular formula, delivering 2 to 4 years of deep gloss and strong hydrophobic protection. Beadlock Black is our top tier coating — a high solids ultra durable formula that protects for up to 7 years. The longer the protection, the more durable the coating.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating bonds directly to whatever surface is underneath it — which means it permanently locks in any swirls, scratches, or oxidation that are already there. If your paint has visible defects, correction before coating will give you dramatically better results. That's exactly why our Signature and Elite Black packages include paint correction as part of the bundle.

How do I maintain my ceramic coating after it's applied?

Avoid automatic car washes with brushes — they will scratch your coating over time. Stick to a two bucket hand wash method using a pH neutral shampoo. Avoid harsh chemicals on the paint. Come back to us once a year for an Annual Coating Refresh service to keep your coating performing at its best and extend its life.

Is ceramic coating worth it in New Orleans?

Absolutely. Between the UV index, the humidity, the acid rain, and the salt air near the lake and river, New Orleans is one of the hardest environments for automotive paint in the country. Ceramic coating is one of the best long term investments you can make in your vehicle's appearance and resale value. Drivers who coat their cars here see a dramatic difference compared to those relying on wax alone.

Do you bring your own water and power?

Yes — our van is fully self-contained. We carry fresh water, a power generator, and all professional equipment on board. You don't need to provide a hose, an outlet, or anything else. Just tell us where your car is and we'll handle everything from there.

Do you offer drop-off service?

Yes — if you prefer to drop your vehicle off, we accept drop-offs at 1 Galleria Blvd, Metairie, 6th floor parking garage. Just schedule in advance.

How long does the ceramic coating process take?

It depends on the service. A basic wash can take under an hour. A full ceramic coating with paint correction can take a full day. We'll give you an honest time estimate when you book.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Zelle, and cash.

Do you do pet hair removal?

Yes — pet hair removal is available as an add-on service for $29 to $75 depending on the severity. Heavily embedded pet hair takes significant time and is priced accordingly. We assess before we quote so there are no surprises.
